Network Greenhouse Gives A Candy Corn

unicefOur favorite holiday here at Network Greenhouse is Halloween: holiday of creepy costumes, alter egos, scary movies, pumpkins, and candy corn… and Zombies.

It's also time to remember that treats are often taken for granted. The weather is getting colder, nights longer, and poverty in America is rapidly on the rise. And I think of an ancient episode from the M*A*S*H television series, Death Takes A Holiday, when Charles is angry that his gift of chocolates to an orphanage has been sold on the Black Market to buy rice and beans for the children...

Charles: No, it is I who should apologize. It is sadly inappropriate to give dessert to a child who has had no meal.

Especially in this economy, our small business is grateful to our community, our clients, our families, and friends for the sustenance of work, for the opportunities to learn and teach and grow. We want to give back as one way of saying "thank you."

So, we are starting a venture, Greenhouse Events. We will give back to our extended community via charities we support, promotion for events or causes we believe in, and volunteering. We will let you know when we are planning a Greenhouse Event and invite you to participate or give us your feedback. You can sign up for our Greenhouse Event emails here.

Now, in honor of our "grand rebranding", as well as in tribute to our love of all things spooky & Halloween-ish, we chose Trick-Or-Treat online for UNICEF as our first (of many) Greenhouse Events. Please take a moment to drop a quarter or two in our donation "box" by clicking through our Facebook page (even if you don't have a Facebook account) to our Unicef donation website. Share the link with your friends, or start an online donation campaign of your own. And visit us again for future Greenhouse Events. Let us know what causes, cool stuff, ideas you think we should showcase in upcoming events. And... Thank You.
